About me

I’m Diana Musabayeva and I love chess.

I have two brothers Maxim and Alexander, my dad is an electrician and my mom works as a babysitter for family help.

Can you help me, fulfil my dreams?

My biggest dream is to become the best female chess player and the first female grandmaster of Belgium. Today, no women have been able to realize this in Belgium. I believe in the power of women and I will prove this even then!

This requires a lot of training and a lot of international tournament experience.

Unfortunately this costs a lot of money to my mom and dad. Who have to work hard to finance all this. Examples are transport costs, accommodation costs, registration fees, food, drinks and coaching.

You can give us a helping hand by contributing a little to these costs.

I promise you eternal fame and gratitude.

9Belgian youth champion -16G with 9/9

Between Sunday 10 April and Saturday 16 April 2022, the Belgian championship took place in hotel Floreal in Blankenberge.

Diana played in the -16G series. Here the best of their age group compete for the most important chess title from Belgium.

With an unbeaten monster score of 9 out of 9 points, Diana managed to blow the competition away. She is now Belgian Champion -16G.

Draw VS the ex- female worldchampion Judith Polgar

A new high point in Diana’s chess career.

During the recent simul, Diana was the only one in the field who managed to keep Judith Polgar in a draw. This is a top result, because Judith is a big name.

For those who don’t know her. Judith Polgar, born in 1976 is a Hungarian chess grandmaster.

She is the only woman ever to reach the world top (top 10) in an era where chess was mainly a men’s sport.

A fide rating of 2735 ELO at its peak says it all. She was by far the strongest of all women, beating her female competitors several times in the world championships.

This also made Diana in the news. Below is a reference to the report

4th place during the European chess champioenschap Girls U12 in Bratislava

Between the first of august and the 11th of august 2019 in European chess champioenship in Bratislva.

With 22 people from the Belgian delegation we left together on the plane to this championship.

After 9 rounds I gained 4th place with an unbeaten score of 7/9 points! With a tournament performance of more than 150 points above my current ELO. Wow, how happy I am! I did not expect this with so many strong players.

Thank you to everyone for your support and trust!

Playing chess during the Flemish championship between adults

Last weekend the Flemish championship took place in Ghent. This takes place every year in the buildings of the KGSRL, the largest Flemish chess club in the country.

What makes this tournament so difficult is that you have to play two games a day. This makes it enormously tiresome and requires a lot of endurance. Here I fought hard among all experienced players and achieved a final score of 3/7! Another special experience.

Chesstournament in Maastricht

Last weekend one of the largest tournaments in the Benelux took place, the Open tournament of Maastricht.

Every year more than 450 players come here to compete for the places of honor.

The tournament is divided into different series A, B & C series, depending on your current ELO level.

I myself entered the C-2 series this year, a -1800 ELO series.

With my current international ELO of 1593 I would have to fight hard for every game.

Despite the strong opposition, I managed to cash in a place in the top 10!

With 5 out of 7 points, I won 8th place with a tournament performance ELO from 1805! 200 points more than my current level.
